Turkey Talk

While I was eating lunch today, I read an article about the women who staff the Butterball Turkey Hotline. What a funny/fun job that would be. I'd probably want to tell everyone they're idiots - one example of a call they received was from a woman who put her turkey in the snow to freeze it and then lost it because it snowed more on top of it. Seriously. Anyway, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and being a food enthusiast, a holiday that I take seriously. I plan weeks in advance, I have a file of recipes that I save and timelines for cooking, etc. you get the idea.
So, I thought it would be fun to share my Thanksgiving "expertise", such as it is, with you, my dear readers. I have another LJ friend who does an advice column through her LJ, so I'm thinking along those same lines, but with the focus on Thanksgiving.
Here's where you come in:
Ask me anything. Any questions about turkey, food prep, desserts, family issues, staying home vs. going out for the meal, leftovers. Anything that comes to mind.
I'll collect the questions, write up some answers (or research if I don't know), and include them in a separate post.
I'll do this now until mid-November. I will keep the comments on this entry screened, so if you're embarassed to ask a question, no one else will see it, and when I do the post with the answers, I'll just post the question, not who it was asked by. Also, I've made this a public entry, so if you have LJ friends who have cooking dilemmas, feel free to point them in my direction.
Have fun!
