What did you think about #4? Do you recommend it? Keatyn is a lefty & my first experience with that.

it's ok. I found it on the clearance table at barnes & noble. There are probably better books out there and probably even better info, for free, on the internet. It was eye opening to me in the sense that I didn't realize how difficult ordinary tasks can be for lefthanded person.

what did you think of the cupcake book?

[identity profile] domesticholly.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a memoir (it's not about cupcakes :)

It's good; not the best writing ever, but eye opening. That woman, Cupcake Brown, went through more crap before she turned 20 than most people go through in their entire lives. It was amazing.

Yeah, i know. She is a hooker right? Hard core life. I have thought about it, but it seems so sad.

[identity profile] domesticholly.livejournal.com 2009-01-17 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
lol; since our last conversation was about Elmo cupcakes, I just wanted to be sure :)

Yeah, she was a hooker, a drug dealer, a gang member, pretty much every horrible thing you can imagine. Parts of the book are very very sad, but at the same time it was so amazing to see all that she's overcome.

I've been wanting to read that book but I've never been able to find it!

Just randomly came across your journal through blizzardbebe...

I've also recently read Chelsea Handler, The Lucky One, Smashed, If I Am Missing or Dead, The Innocent Man. Seems like we have some common interests. Wanna be friends?

Absolutely. I added you back. I saw that you listed Anita Shreve in your interests. She's one of my all time favorite authors.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Also, if you want to read Piece of Cake, I have copy that I would be glad to send to you. I picked it up at my library's used book sale.

Ooooh I would love to borrow Piece of Cake.

Yep--I adore Shreve also. Have you read Testimony yet?
